How to Fix Your Sh*t with Sháá Wasmund MBE
Hello our beautiful friends! Today we have a very energising conversation with Sháá Wasmund, entrepreneur at heart, motivational speaker and best-selling writer with a heart-touching story. In this episode, we talk about obstacles, how to overcome the fear of taking risks, and build a meaningful life and live it on your own terms, with love, courage and self-awareness. Tune in now and join us as we go through Sháá’s incredible life journey, from challenging childhood to an MBE from The Queen for Services to Business and Entrepreneurship.
Born in California, Sháá had a very dysfunctional childhood – supportive and encouraging mother and drug-addicted abusive father. It made Sháá grow up very quickly and have different perspectives on life. At 11, Sháá moved to the UK with her mother and younger brother in the most challenging circumstances – ater living an American dream life, they ended up in a hostel for homeless people. Looking back at her life, Sháá confesses that she decided to take something positive from her childhood experiences.
“Whatever happens in my life now, I know that there is always a tomorrow. I’ve been fearlessly ambitious all my life. I used my childhood challenges to fuel my fire rather than being a victim or letting it engulf me” – Sháá Wasmund
Sháá studied at the London School of Economics. One year before graduating, she won the Cosmopolitan magazine completion to interview the legendary boxer Chris Eubank. Before the interview ended, Chris offered her a job and Sháá became the only licensed female boxing promoter in the world at that time. It was her energy and strong unique personality that shone through.
After that, Shaa set up her own PR company and met another legend of the lifetime, James Dyson, “incredibly talented and generous human being” as she describes him. She helped grow the Dyson brand and learned so much about business from James and his team. They recognised her extreme talent to create a positive change and deliver unique value, and gave her opportunities to evolve, take risks and gain self-confidence.
“Self-worth, self-belief and self-confidence are muscles just like any other muscles. The more you use and reinforce them, the stronger the become” – Sháá Wasmund
Sháá always believed in the power of building the tribe. For her, in order to succeed, we have to surround ourselves with massive action takers, people who are rich at their heart, rich at their soul and want the best for us. After quitting her job as CEO of her own business, Sháá created an incredible online community and shared her knowledge with thousands of like minded entrepreneurs on how to build successful online businesses.
Sháá wanted to write since she was 8 years old. She just never thought it was a proper, serious and stable job. It took her 30 years to have an honest conversation with herself and find the self-belief Sháá needed to finally do the work she truly loves. So far, she has written 4 straight-talking, bestselling books; Stop Talking, Start Doing, plus and Action Book; Do Less, Get More; and most recently, How To Fix Your Shi*t. And today she shares what we can –and should– do to stop talking and start building the life we want for ourselves.
Actual advice to stop talking and start doing:
The first step is self-awareness. The more self-aware you are, the more of control of your life you become.
Understand that time is priceless. If you want to do something, do it now.
Find your tribe, build your community, and surround yourself with massive action takers, that will inspire you and help you, in one way or another, to go for your goals.
Figure out if you actually want something or do you just prefer to have it?
Reinvent yourself.
Be honest with yourself. Do you enjoy your life? Are you happy? Do you love what you are doing? If not, then...
Find the solution, because there will always be one.
