How to Make Your Plan B a Massive Success with Adrian Niman
Hello our beautiful friends! You know how we love digging into different types of businesses and share with you incredible life stories. In today’s podcast episode, we share a story about the man with purpose, vision and dream, chef and entrepreneur Adrian Niman.
First 15 years of his life, Adrian was playing competitive hockey, and he thought he had been destined to be a hockey player. As he grew up, he decided to come up with a plan B for his career. At school’s job fair, he saw a chef tossing the pasta. It looked so romantic and mesmerizing. Exactly at that moment, Adrian’s incredible career journey began.
He was obsessed with learning how to work in the restaurant and navigate through business aspects of the catering, hospitality and restaurant industries. Adrian worked hard and smart, and originally launched the catering service The Food Dudes from the kitchen of his condo back in 2007, after intense training at the Michelin-starred Reads Hotel in Mallorca, Spain.
Later Adrian partnered with Creative Director Brent McClenahan, added Chief Executive Officer Lindsay Klein soon after, amazing chefs, strong bookkeeper and extra talented Operations Manager, and built a world-class team of passionate hard-working professionals, who quickly distinguished themselves as Canadian industry leaders with their very own and authentic corporate culture. His team members are the ones who impact how Adrian’s businesses grow.
Today, Chef Niman combines business growth development with night work in the kitchens of Toronto’s award-winning restaurants Rasa and Sara. He believes that in life, no matter what you do, you have to push for what you believe in and don’t take ’No’ for an answer. Eventually, Adrian’s Plan B, together with his self-driven approach to work, has propelled him from the only chef at the upstart Food Dudes to an influential presence in the culinary community.
“In business, it takes hard work and dedication, but ultimately it takes a little bit of luck.” – Adrian Niman
