How to Turn Your Life Around With Dan Martell
Hello our beautiful friends! Today we have another exciting, deep, raw and extremely inspiring episode with Dan Martell, a serial Canadian entrepreneur, SaaS (Software as a service) business coach, investor and incredible human being with life-changing story. Tune in now and discover how from a jail cell and drug addiction Dan was able to rebuild himself, shine the light inside him and become an incredible entrepreneur.
Dealing with bad anger issues since early childhood, Dan ended up in a group home for troubled teenagers at the age of 12. When Dan was 16, he crashed a stolen car into a house while trying to escape the police. High on drugs, without a driver's license and with a stolen handgun in his backpack. Waking up the next morning in a jail cell made Dan realize that it was enough. He understood he was alive for a reason, and if he could go through near-death experience, he would try to be a good person and find his own path.
Dan was sentenced to 6 months in an adult jail, and then got released to complete an 11 month program in a rehabilitation center Portage. This rehab was not only his life saver, but also the initial point of his success story. Dan was able to reveal his demons in order to rebuild himself, and found the way out from a destructive path. And 22 years later, he still goes back there every 4 months to teach lost kids as he was once to shine the light inside them and take responsibility for their own success.

What started with a little yellow book about Java Script, soon turned into a new addiction, but for that time, it was legal. While still being in Portage, Dan became a secret computer nerd and started his first tech company in 17. It was his therapy program that has never stopped since then. “I owe my life to Portage and software”, Dan adds. He walked in a rehab as a broken teenager with nothing to live for and walked out of there determined to make something of himself. And he did – Dan made his first million by 27.
Over time, Dan was able to find the right mentors, books, and advice to build up a bank of knowledge that became valuable not only to him, but also to others. So, he first created Clarity, and then SaaS Academy to pass on the wisdom and insights that he learned along the way of building successful tech companies, mentoring and raising venture capitals for his previous startups. Today Dan is a thought-leader, growth expert and a business coach who stands for 2 essential life lessons: one, you have to invest in yourself; and two, you have the power to become extraordinary.

Be careful with a quick labelling and always try to recognize the good in people.
In order to stay healthy, hang out with healthy people.
The reason some people become troublemakers is because it’s hard for them to follow the system. And the reason they become extraordinary entrepreneurs is because they actually see loops in a system and are able to explore them, take risks and create tons of value.
Invest in yourself. If you have 10 dollars in your pocket, go buy a book, go to an event, go be around interesting and inspiring people, because that’s where you’re building the base and the foundation, so that when the opportunity finally shows up, you are that kind of person that can execute.
The world rewards courageous decisions.
Follow your true passion, don’t waste your time doing things that you hate.
Sometimes we are afraid of our power and success, because we keep thinking what will happen if we screw up. We have to take the responsibility of our insecurities, unpack our greatness and allow ourselves to live our dream lives.
If you want to get to the next level, you have to do an investment in yourself, do the hard work, make your money worth, and show up.
Every time you feel stuck, ask yourself a question: “Who do you need to become to get what is next?”.
